UPDATE: Police respond to firearms call in West Flat

UPDATE: Police said no charges will be layed after an incident yesterday afternoon closed a large section of 13th. St. W. A man admitted he was doing target practice in his backyard with a pellet gun, which initiated the call for service.

Police shut down a block of 13th St. W. this afternoon after receiving a firearms call.

The entire 1000 block of the street was cordoned off by police, and paramedics arrived on the scene under lights and sirens.

Police spokesperson Alanna Adamko said after the officers surrounded the house three suspects emerged and surrendered peacefully, and the call was less serious than it initially appeared. At this point the incident is not being treated as criminal, Adamko said, and no charges are expected, though two suspects were seen handcuffed at the scene.
