Backpack with weapons, breach of undertaking fill PAPS weekend

A 32-year-old male from Domremy is facing a number of charges after he was found unresponsive in his vehicle.

On Dec. 3, police responded to a complaint of a suspected impaired driver at a business on the 3600 Block and Second Ave. W.

Officers arrived to find a truck running in the parking lot with the driver asleep at the wheel. Officers woke the male who appeared under the influence.

The driver was arrested and a knife and a pill bottle containing pills were located on his person.

The male, who police did not name, is charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle, unlawful possession of clonazepam, unlawful possession of hydromorphone and two counts of breach of his undertaking.

As well, early Monday, police were called to an alley on the 300 Block of Seventh St. E for a suspicious incident. 

On arrival, police found a male wearing a mask, dark clothing and carrying a backpack. The male was questioned by officers and found to be in breach of an undertaking and was arrested. 

Officers then retrieved the backpack which the suspect had thrown over a fence and inside, found a 12 gauge shotgun.

The 31-year-old male from Prince Albert, who police did not name, is charged with seven firearms-related offences, one breach of undertaking to stay at his residence from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and one breach of probation to keep the peace and be of good behaviour.
