R.M. open house to showcase new office space

It’s been two months since the Rural Municipality moved into its new building on Ninth St. W, but this weekend council and staff will be officially welcoming ratepayers to view the facility first hand with an open house.

R.M. Reeve Tim McKay is looking forward to a number of visitors from the region.

“Councillors will be there to talk with them and answer questions,” he said. “It will be important for people to see what’s going on, and what the money’s paid for.”

The idea for the project started back in 2014, and with the go-ahead from council in 2016, construction started in the spring of 2017. The new facility cost around $1.2 million, and there is more office space, a more secure file storage area, and a new board room.
