A biennial event coming up in Meadow Lake will answer questions and entertain families with new babies and young children.

The Community Baby Shower, hosted by Positively Parenting, has taken place every two years since 1995. A variety of community groups, including KidsFirst and Early Childhood Services, will be at Gateway Elementary School Thursday, April 26. Alicia Lehoux, executive director of Positively Parenting, said the shower has become a much-anticipated occasion.

“We try to host it every two years so we connect with new and expectant parents,” she said. “If they come when they’re prenatal, then come again in two years, they can hit different information. We have the Meadow Lake Library, public health, [and] Flying Dust health, so just a really good mix of great information.”

Lehoux said post-partum support group A Room of Our Own will be one of the new booths this year.
