Town Hall planned for North Battleford

People concerned about recent cuts to Crown corporations will have an opportunity to sound off in North Battleford. 

The Cuts and Crowns event is planned by a group of citizens who belong to the organization Stop the Cuts. Some members are also affiliated with a group called Save STC.

This year's BUH Foundation's $100,000 lottery draw will benefit the cataract program at the hospital to upgrade equipment such as the Centurion Visual System.

Tickets for the 2017 Battlefords Union Hospital (BUH) Grand Prize Lottery go on sale Monday, Aug. 14 and while someone will take home $100,000 in November, the real winner will be the hospital’s cataract program.

With the increase in thefts in the area, particularly in vehicle break-ins, RCMP are frustrated people still refuse to lock their vehicles while unattended or leave valuables inside which tempt thieves.

It’s a warning the RCMP issued several times and it continues to be ignored by many.

More clean up ahead for former Shell station in North Battleford

The owner of the former Shell Canada gas station on the corner of 100 St. and 19 Ave. in North Battleford is preparing to proceed with further soil clean up efforts on the property shortly.

North Battleford Mayor Ryan Bater is pleased to see the cleanup work continue.
