North West College is beginning a Canada wide search for its new president and CEO after Tavia Laliberte formally announced her resignation effective in February.

Husky Energy's Edam East thermal heavy oil production plant experienced an uncontrolled release at one of its wells Friday, spewing steam and a small amount of oil into the atmosphere.

Local Co-op wins national award for outstanding retailer

The North Battleford Discovery Co-op Home Centre won a national award identifying it as an outstanding retailer earlier this month.

Police placed the North Battleford Comprehensive High School under a hold and secure order Friday, that was initiated by the school division. There was no threat to staff or students, the school division said in a statement.

North Battleford Comprehensive High School was under a hold and secure order Friday afternoon.

Living Sky School Division said in a statement an incident occurred near the high school, but did not specify. 

North Battleford Mayor, Ryan Bater, appreciates the seven RCMP officers supplied by Saskatchewan, but feels more positions should be provided by the province to combat the crime issues.
