School division employee fired after allegedly misappropriating over $15K

An investigation is underway following an employee’s termination from Living Sky School Division No. 202 for alleged misappropriation of funds.

According to a release issued by Boards of Education, the loss of public funds in the amount of $15,152 took place from September to December of 2022 and was included in the reporting period of December., 1. 2023 to February., 29. 2024.

As a result of the alleged theft, the report said, “The school division has increased the frequency of internal audits and is implementing new online software for accepting fees and payments in order to reduce the volume of cash handled in the schools.”
