Influenza vaccine campaign begins this month
It’s flu season again and the Prince Albert Parkland Health Region is encouraging locals to protect themselves and others from influenza.
Dr. Khami Chokani, a medical health officer, said everyone – especially children and seniors – should get immunized.
“Proper hand hygiene, cough etiquette and immunization combine to reduce the risk of getting and spreading influenza,” Chokani said in a media release. “We want everyone to get the vaccine so they can protect themselves, their family and others in the community.”
Children under nine years old can get their vaccine through the Public Health clinics, doctor’s offices and a visit to a nurse practitioner. Pharmacists can vaccinate those older than nine.
