There is a job opening at Prince Albert City Hall, following news Derek Blais has accepted the position of Director of Parks & Recreation with the City of Moose Jaw.

Blais has been Prince Albert’s recreation manager since June, 2014. During his time with the city, Blais has been instrumental in developing many recreation plans including the expansion at the Alfred Jenkins Field House (inclusive playground, soccer pitches, Beach Volleyball Courts and Outdoor Basketball Courts), and he served as one of the key representatives with Project Triple Play and the WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championships (diamond construction and event operation).

“I’m not surprised we are losing staff to other cities. We have a very strong recruitment and training process,” Mayor Greg Dionne said in a statement “I am very proud of the work that Derek has done for the organization and I wish him all the best in his new position.”

“I am very thankful to the City of Prince Albert for providing the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally,” Derek Blais said. “I would like to extend a big thank you to all City personnel and Community Organizations for your tremendous support. It was an extremely difficult decision as we have really enjoyed our time in Prince Albert. I am very proud of the recreation projects that have been completed over the past four and a half years and know that this positive work will continue because of the strong team that is in place.”
